Horseware Ireland has been a known brand in our house for some years, we have always kept horses, and we know that Horseware rugs are superb. Their website features their full range of fly sheets, stable rugs, and turnouts, but most recently I have had my eyes opened to their range of outdoor and country wear.

When the gale force winds are blowing and the rain is falling, it is often my job to go up to the paddocks to feed and water the horses. A new coat to keep me warm and dry whilst hauling trailers of haylage across the wet field is exactly what I need, but also something that looked good to wear as an all outdoors coat. With great collections for men, women, and children, we spent over an hour browsing their jackets and finally narrowed down our choices to these two firm favourites. (one for me and one for her, of course).

Ardan mens winter jacket by Horseware Ireland

Ardan mens winter jacket by Horseware Ireland – This long practical padded jacket is perfect for the yard or riding. It’s waterproof with taped seams and has a hidden hood as well as a warm polyester fill, secure zipped front pockets and a cosy fleece lined inner collar for comfort and warmth.

Verdict: The jackets are really well made, really warm, and fit really well. We have put them to the test throughout the recent storms that have battered Cornwall, and I am confident in their waterproof abilities. I intend on wearing it to the Royal Cornwall Show where my wife is showing her horse. Also we have a foal due in April so naturally we will be kitting it out with Horseware rugs.
